About Black and Geuaxld
Geovanni Velasquez is a New Orleanian born and raised. He has had a camera in his hand for as long as he can remember. Turning what he loved into a full-time job, Geo started Black and Geauxld Photography in 2010 – the week before the Saints won the Super Bowl and thus inspiring the Black and Geuaxld name.
Focusing on events and commercial photography, Geo loves getting to know his clients then finding a way to capture their ideas or vision and tell their story through beautiful images. He offers a concierge style of photography; every client’s results are unique and custom to their needs. Focusing on the client’s story and fantastic service, Geo is not only accommodating and easy to work with but delivers images quickly and efficiently.
Geo and his wife Ketra have a son, Geo “lowercase g” and a heavenly daughter Nola who is their guardian angel. You can always find them enjoying the sites of New Orleans, riding around with nowhere to go, watching movies and Saints games, or searching for the perfect pair of sneakers.
I love telling the unique and diverse stories that make up the culture of New Orleans. The best things about this city are the people. Everyone knows someone that knows someone you know. Our city really is like a bowl of gumbo. It is part of the reason we named our daughter, Nola. It is a wonderful gift to be a visual storyteller and have the opportunity to experience the world through a different lens and help others see its beauty and possibility.
